Perpetual Emotion Machine [definition: compression waves in air molecules digitally encoded into ones and zeros for the purpose of evoking longing, heartache, joy] is the 9th album by Radium88 and their first full-length release on Disco Gecko. [definition: their stated aim to make the most emotionally concentrated music they could using mainly electronic instrumentation and voice]

While not a concept album, there are recurring themes of the evolving relationship between human and machine. [definition: a meditation on the experience of the human soul as it drowns in a sea of undifferentiated information and misinformation]

Their sound has evolved into an evocative blend of artful electronica with neo-classical piano and futuristic dream-pop. Here and there are splashes of folk, jazz and psychedelia. [definition: electrical signals in the cortex interpreted as love, loneliness, pity, hope]

Ethereal, mysterious, owing something to the minimalisms of Philip Glass and Arvo Part, the purity of Renaissance vocal harmony and the emotional expressiveness of Chopin and Schumann.
